Born on December 30, 1956 at Hoshiarpur(Punjab).
Passed Graduation in Arts from Govt. College Hoshiarpur in the year 1978. Thereafter, obtained degree in Bachelor of Laws from Punjab University,Chandigarh in 1981.
Started Practice at Bar in 1982, at District Courts, Hoshiarpur and then shifted to Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh in the year 1986. In 1995, selected to Superior Judicial Service and remained posted as Additional District & Sessions Judge at Bhathinda and Ropar. Promoted as District & Sessions Judge in 2001 and remained posted at Fatehgarh Sahib and Faridkot Sessions Divisions. In 2006, was appointed as Legal Remembrancer and Law Secretary to the Goverment of Punjab. On October 8, 2007 was elevated as Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court at Chandigarh. Transfered as Judge, High Court of Gujarat at Ahmedabad and took the charge on 30.12.2011.
Fond of Playing badminton, cricket, golf and also likes light classical music and gazals.
