Born on 14th October, 1954 at Vadodara. Did Graduation from Saurashtra University in 1974. Obtained Law Degree in the year 1978 from Sir L.A. Shah Law College. During college career, took active part in N.C.C and sports.
His father late Shri B.J. Shah was also in the Judiciary and retired in the year 1980 as a judge, Small Causes Court at Ahmedabad.
Enrolled as an advocate with Gujarat Bar Council in the year 1979.
Worked as Secretary and for some time as Vice President of the Ahmedabad (Rural) / District Bar Association during the period 1987 and 1994. He was appointed as the Judge, City Civil & Sessions Court on 11th July, 1994 and from 18.9.2006 worked as Principal Judge, City Civil & Sessions Court upto 13.9.2010. From 14.9.2010 was deputed as Registrar General in the High Court of Gujarat and worked as such upto 15.2.2011.
Elevated to the Bench of High Court of Gujarat as Additional Judge on 17.02.2011 and confirmed as permanent Judge on 28.01.2013.
Retired on 13.10.2016.
