Had his education upto High School level at Rajkot and collegiate education at Ahmedabad in H. K. Arts College and Sir L.A. Shah Law College. Enrolled as an Advocate on 5.9.1973 and joined the Chamber of Government Pleader and Senior Advocate Shri G. N. Desai. Was appointed in the Office of the Government Pleader, High Court of Gujarat, where he worked in different branches. Was appointed Assistant Government Pleader and Additional Public Prosecutor in the High Court from January 1982 and continued on the said post till he was appointed as a Principal Government Pleader and Public Prosecutor in the High Court from 21.11.1990 till he was elevated as a Judge of the Gujarat High Court on 17.1.1994. He has conducted many notable Civil, Criminal and Costitutional matters and represented the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Surat Municipal Corporation, Baroda Municipal Corporation, State Bank of India and represented Bar Council of Gujarat as amicus curiae before the Disciplinary Committee of the State Bar Council and the Central Bar Council of India. Represented the Bar Council of Gujarat in the workshop of Criminal Advocacy organised by the Bar Council of India Trust at Nainital between 23.5.1983 and 30.5.1983. Elevated to the Bench of High Court of Gujarat on 17.1.1994. Transferred as Judge of Bombay High Court from 4.2.1994. Appointed as Permanent Judge of Bombay High Court from 3.2.1995. Nominated as a Judge of the Special Court established under (Trial of Offences Relating to Transactions in Securities) Act, 1997 and worked as Special Court Judge till 10.9.2001. Transferred as Judge of the High Court of Gujarat from 11.9.2001. Nominated as member of The Gujarat State Human Rights Committee, constituted by the learned Chief Justice. Retired on 03.03.2005.
