Full Profile :
Born on 23rd April 1960 in a Muslim family of Judges at Ahmedabad. Grandfather was a Munsif in erstwhile State of Bombay while father was a retired District & Sessions Judge. Paternal uncle is also a retired Additional District Judge.
Graduated in Commerce from Gujarat University in 1980. Did LL.B. (Special) from M.S. University Vadodara in 1983.
Joined Bar in July 1983 and started practice in City Courts at Ahmedabad and High Court of Gujarat.
Became AGP & APP in High Court of Gujarat in 1994 and continued till Joining Service in February-1997 as Direct Recruit in the cadre of District Judge.
Worked as Assistant Judge and Joint District Judge, Mehsana and thereafter as District & Sessions Judge at Surendranagar and Bharuch.
Worked on deputation as Member Secretary, Gujarat State Legal Service Authority from June-2003 to June-2004 and thereafter, as Registrar (Inspection) in the High Court of Gujarat till July 2007.
On repatriation, worked as Judge, City Civil & Sessions Court, Ahmedabad, as Principal Judge, Family Court, Ahmedabad and lastly as Principal District & Sessions Judge, Banaskantha at Palanpur till elevation as Additional Judge, High Court of Gujarat on 4th May 2013.
Has undergone training for "Trained Mediator" by the Master Trainers from Delhi nominated by Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi. Has conducted mediation training programmes for Referral Judges and Mediation Awareness Programmes in various Districts of the State as a resource person under the aegis of Gujarat State Legal Services Authority.
Have rendered services as resource person in the Gujarat State Judicial Academy, Ahmedabad and have also attended many Conferences, Seminars and Workshops at National Judicial Academy, Bhopal and other places.
Took oath as a permanent Judge on 01.04.2015.
